Description
Product Description & How we calculate the Leather Surface? We use automatic surface calculating machine We use a highly precise measuring machine to measure the leather surface as it does not have a standard shape. You can watch our video among the product images to learn how the cut pieces are prepared and how the surface areas are calculated. Don't forget, only tanneries like us has the highly precise machine to calculate leather surface, not merchants. However, to put it simply, the above image will help you understand the size of the leather. As cowhide is very large and costly, we divide it into smaller pieces to offer them to our valued customers. Here is some explanation about the leather surface area: 12" x 12": Exact 1 Square Feet.12" x 24": Exact 2 Square Feet.2.5-4 Sqft: This option has approximately 3.25 Sqft average leather surface. This does not mean 2.5 Feet by 4 Feet.4-6 Sqft: This option has approximately 5 Sqft average leather surface. This does not mean 4 Feet by 6 Feet.6-8 Sqft: This option has approximately 7 Sqft average leather surface. This does not mean 6 Feet by 8 Feet.8-10 Sqft: This option has approximately 9 Sqft average leather surface. This does not mean 8 Feet by 10 Feet.10-12 Sqft: This option has approximately 11 Sqft average leather surface. This means not 10 Feet by 12 Feet.20-22 Sqft: This option has approximately 21 Sqft average leather surface. This means not 20 Feet by 22 Feet. If you want to buy half of the cowhide, you can select this. We will send one side of the cowhide. Pro Tip: Also, you can calculate the surface area by measuring your leather (average) width and (average) length by inch meter. You can use this formula: Width x Length / 144 = Leather Surface area. For example, you have the leather dimensions of 24" x 36" (average). This means that you have 6 Square Feet of leather. Veg-Tan Full Grain Leather. How big is 4-6 Sf : It is average 5 Sqft Vegetable Tanned Leather Patina Turns to Caramel color overtime As leather ages, it develops a rich and captivating patina, a unique blend of colors and textures that tell a story of enduring beauty. With each use and exposure to the elements, leather gains character and charm creating a one-of-a-kind piece. The allure of patina lies in its ability to capture the essence of time reminding us that like leather we too grow more fascinating and beautiful with age Vegetable-Tanned Sepici's European Import Full Grain Leather Vegetal leather means leather tanned with natural tannins such as tree bark. It is the oldest tanning method known to man. This tanning method which has existed for centuries constitutes less than 10% of the tanning presently carried out worldwide. Best Usage for 2/3oz (0.8 - 1.2 mm) Wallet Inside Pockets If you want to bi-fold or minimal leather wallet, you must use 2/3oz for the leather inner pockets. Thin leather will allow you to make really thin wallets when it is empty. This is full-grain natural leather just like thick natural leather which means you can dye or tooling as well as thick leather. Watch Bands You can make Watch Bands as you wish with this leather. You can apply water repellent solution on the leather and you can leave with Natural color or you can dye it as well. This thin leather is perfect for making double-sided watch bands. When you touch it, you will understand how unique and beautiful feeling. Leather Bookmark Every bookworm loves book smells. From armor to bookbindings, leather's alluring scent became synonymous with quality and durability. Across civilizations and through the ages, the aromatic essence of leather continues to evoke a sense of timeless charm, craftsmanship, and nostalgia. Its fragrance weaves a fragrant tale that resonates with our senses and reminds us of the enduring allure of this remarkable material, just like book smells. Furniture Molding You can mold your furniture or chairs with this kind of thin leather easily. Pro Tip: if you soak into the water before applying, it will take furniture shape when it dries. You can apply water repellent for the Natural color or you can dye whatever color you like and then you can apply water repellent for the final touch. Full Grain Leather, instead of Genuine Leather! Full Grain leather is the highest quality, made from the top layer of the hide, preserving the natural grain and imperfections, resulting in a durable and luxurious material that ages beautifully over time. On the other hand, Genuine Leather refers to lower-grade leather that has been processed and altered. It may be made by splitting the top layer and applying artificial finishes. Genuine Leather is less durable and lacks the natural characteristics and longevity of Full Grain leather. When choosing leather products, opting for Full Grain leather ensures superior quality and long-lasting elegance. When choosing leather, it is important to consider its quality and purpose. Full Grain leather is ideal for those seeking the highest quality, long-lasting leather goods that will develop character over time. Genuine Leather, while genuine, may not possess the same level of durability and natural beauty. . Sepici's 100 Years of Wisdom on Traditional Vegetable-Tanned Leather Vegetable-Tanned & Sustainable! Full Grain Vegetable-Tanned Leather is a premium type of leather that undergoes a specific tanning process using natural materials such as tree bark and plant extracts. This process is called vegetable tanning and is known for its traditional methods. Full Grain refers to the topmost layer of the hide, retaining the natural grain and imperfections, which adds to its durability and unique appearance. Vegetable tanning enhances the leather's natural characteristics, making it soft, supple, and capable of developing a rich patina over time. This type of leather is highly sought after for its high quality, natural beauty, and sustainable production methods. Sepici Leather, a family-owned company in Turkey, has been carrying on the tradition of leather craftsmanship for four generations (approximately 100 years). For four generations, they have been dedicated to this profession. First I was thrown off because I thought it was a 4x6 piece but it’s between 4 and 6 x1square feet, but that was my mistake. The leather was great. I used it to complete a sword scabbard. It was my first time. The leather was easy to work with and took the black dye very well. I’m happy and will be buying more.
